The curriculum is organized into six required instructional sections, each containing guided lessons and a knowledge-check quiz to reinforce key concepts tested on the California Notary Public examination. Topics include the role and authority of a California Notary Public, commission qualifications, acknowledgments and jurats, identification standards, journal requirements, fees and prohibited acts, and common exam scenarios.
This course is delivered entirely online and may be completed at the student’s own pace. Upon successful completion of the required instruction and assessments, students will receive a certificate of completion that satisfies the California Secretary of State’s mandatory education requirement and may be submitted with a notary application.
This program is intended for individuals seeking to become a California Notary Public or renew an existing commission and emphasizes accuracy, compliance, and real-world readiness.
